Join The Cruz Missiles for LB Charity Ride - Register now for the May 8th bicycling event!
Be a part of "The Cruz Missiles" team that will participate in the 2010 Tour of Long Beach, a 31-mile loop through the city on Saturday, May 8th at 8am. The Tour is part of the larger 2nd Annual Long Beach Bike Festival.
Who can be on "The Cruz Missiles" team? Anyone can! No need to be a world class athlete for this one. What's our mission? To blow the fundraiser competition out of their Lycra! Click here for the flyer. By participating, you'll be making a contribution to Miller Children's Hospital in Long Beach.
Here's what you'll need to participate in the Tour of Long Beach ride:
- A bike & helmet
- Desire to ride 31 miles with friends and family to support Miller Children's Hospital (hosted by yours truly)
- Pay a $45 registration per person fee (all funds go to Miller Children's Hospital)
If you're not up to riding the 31-mile Tour of Long Beach, there's also an option to do a fun 4-mile "Family Tour" (hosted by Justin Rudd) and the per person registration fee is $20 dollars.
Here's how to register for the Tour:
1) Click here to find the 2010 Tour of Long Beach registration page on Active.com. See the summary and then click "Register Now" at the bottom of the page.
2) Choose Family Fun Ride, 31-mile Tour, or hte "Metric Century," which will be two loops for 62 miles or 100 kilometers.
3) Complete the form and continue.
4) On the next page, you'll be asked to select a team. Select "The Cruz Missiles."
5) Complete the form.
Voila, now you can start getting ready for the Tour! If you'd like to order a Cruz LBC t-shirt, please send your t-shirt size and quantity to antoniocruz@cruzindustries.com for a pre-order. The price is $10 dollars. A preview will be available at www.CruzIndustries.com by April 26th.
Also, if you are interested, you can train on Wednesday evening at my training ride at 6:30pm in the Douglas Park Development. The Douglas Park Development is located on East Conant Street, one block west of Lakewood Blvd.
Can't participate in the Tour? You can still donate and raise funds. Click here to find out how.
Hope to see you there,

Will the police be there to ticket those without LB bicycle registrations?
Remember, if you don't have brakes, they will seize your bike.
